Outback Romagnolas was established in 1997 with the acquisition of a few Romagnola cows and a single Romagnola bull. Prior to breeding Romagnolas, Dr. Chuck Lyons and Mr. Kenneth Davis had raised commercial cattle with several different breeds of herd sires. However, they were never satisfied with any one breed. That is until they found Romagnolas. The uniformity and predictability of this breed, along with the quality of meat, longevity, and multiple other promising factors made them appear too good to be true; however, after giving the breed a try, they were both more than satisfied.

Today, Outback Romagnolas is made up of more than 90 registered animals along with a large commercial herd which is crossed with Romagnola bulls only. Through both dedication and knowledge, Outback Romagnolas has come to be known as one of the premier breeders of high-quality Romagnola cattle.
